Anna K Wierzba

November 8, 1916 — August 16, 2009

Today one of God's earth angels returned back to him. Anna K. (Kosko) Wierzba, 92, of Gypsum, Ohio passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at Riverview Rehabilitation Center in Oak Harbor, with her daughter and granddaughter at her side. Anna was born on November 8, 1916 in Circle Hill, Athens County, Ohio, the daughter of the late William J. and Mary (Kaufman) Kosko. On June 22, 1940 she married Julian A. Wierzba and he preceded her in death on May 14, 1998. She worked for the U.S. Gypsum Company in Gypsum, Ohio for 30 years retiring in 1980. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton where she was also a member of the Altar-Rosary Society and a bible study group. Her hobbies included spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, watching the Cleveland Indians and golf on TV, baking, and going fishing. Survivors include her son: Donald (Judy) Wierzba, Sandusky, OH; daughter: Theresa (Robley) Blackford, Gypsum, OH; grandchildren: Robley (Tamara) Blackford, Danbury Twp; Dawn (Dean) Fisher, Port Clinton; Heather (Andrew) Zisko, Maumee, OH; great grandsons: Cody Blackford, Joshua and Ashton Fisher, Jason, Nicholas, and Luke Zisko; great granddaughter: Mary Blackford; step great granddaughter: Tiffany Fillmore; step great-great granddaughter: Brooke-Lynn Lattimore; brothers: Joseph (Char) Demshok, Danbury Twp.; Andrew Demshok, Oak Harbor, OH; and Charles Demshok, Salt Lake City, Utah; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son- Ronald, step father-George Demshok, brother-John Kosko and sister-Marian Spooner; half sister-Margaret Ybarrando; half brothers- William and Jim Demshok; step brothers- George and Michael Demshok; step sisters- Ann Mocari, Marie Kepics, Verna Ramsey and Geraldine Murphy. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 from 6-8 PM at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, Ohio. Prayers will begin at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 19, at 10:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton, with Reverend Raymond Ensman officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Port Clinton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or School.
