Anna A. (Balduf) Johnson

Anna A. (Balduf) Johnson, 93, of Kalamazoo, MI and formerly of Port Clinton, OH, died Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Borgess Nursing Home, Kalamazoo, MI. She was born on January 2, 1916 in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Mary Morman. Anna went to school in Temperance, Michigan. After high school she married Emmett Balduf, who is the father of her children, in 1936, and he preceded her in death in 1969. She married her second husband, Morris Johnson, in 1972 and he preceded her in death in 1982. She worked as a crane operator at the Erie Army Depot in Port Clinton for over 19 years during World War Two. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, where she taught Sunday School, and also a member of the Ruth Circle. Anna was a member and president of Bay Township Farm Women's Club; member and president of the Sunshine Garden Club; charter member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees; and member of the Bay Township Sewing Club. Survivors include her daughter: Janet Swartz, Perrysburg, OH; son: Norm (Marcia) Balduf, Kalamazoo, MI; grandchildren: AJ Swartz II, Darin Ellard, Justin Balduf, Shawn Tyler; six great-granddaughters; sisters: Florence Hopkins, Toledo, OH and Charlotte Knagg, Northwood, OH. She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 14, from 4-7 PM at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton. Additional visitation will be held from 10-11AM on Thursday, January 15, at St. John Lutheran Church, 207 Adams Street, Port Clinton where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in LaCarpe Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's area food pantry, or donor's choice.
