Ann F. Kochensparger, passed away at her Catawba Island residence on November 29, 2018. She was born May 27, 1938 in Plymouth, Indiana to Ralph and Lesta Forster. Ann and her family relocated to Port Clinton while she was in the fourth grade. After high school, she was first employed helping her parents who owned and operated the Ben Franklin Store in downtown Port Clinton. Much of her young adult life was proudly occupied marching from state to state in the Cochrane Majorettes. This award-winning group was the original majorette group in Ohio. Later in life, Ann was the Director of the Port Clinton Legion Paraders. Ann worked 18 years and retired from the Port Clinton Board of Education as Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent. Among her many job duties, she took great pride and joy in the kindergarten round up each year. Ann also worked in the office of Nick Schifflet at State Farm Insurance as well as the Port Clinton Daily News. On January 27, 1957, Ann married her high school sweetheart Ronald Kochensparger in Port Clinton and he survives. Married 61 years, they are the proud parents of Michael (Jamie), Mark (Valerie) and LeAnn Caldwell (Daniel). Grandchildren, Ryan, Kaylee and Macy. Great grandchildren, Kaden and Rylan. Ann has a surviving sister, Linda Snyder. She was preceded in death by her parents and older brother, Robert Forster. A Christian service will be conducted at Trinity United Methodist Church, 135 Adams Street, Port Clinton, Ohio on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 11 am. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service from 10-11 am. Burial will follow at Catawba Island Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Heartland Hospice of Fremont or Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton.
