Ann E. Bolte, 102, of Catawba Island, Port Clinton, died Saturday, December 24, 2005 at Otterbein North Shore Retirement Community, Lakeside, OH. She was born May 4, 1903 in Port Clinton, a daughter of the late George and Mary (Mindek) Drusbacky, Sr. She married John H. “Jack” Bolte and he preceded her in death in 1957. Mrs. Bolte was the founder of Bolte Real Estate and Bolte Insurance in 1936, staying active in the business until age 97. In 1942, she organized the Ottawa County Board of Realtors, serving the board several times as president and also as secretary and treasurer. In 1961 she was the first female Vice President of District 4, Ohio Association of Real Estate. She was named Realtor of the Year of the Ohio Association in 1963, the first woman to receive that award. She served as a National Director for the National Association of Real Estate, was a member of Omega Tau Rho, and was elected Chief Venerate in 1977. Mrs. Bolte was the first woman appointed by Governor James Rhodes to the Ohio Real Estate Commission, Division of Real Estate. Mrs. “B” was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Port Clinton; Port Clinton Yacht Club; Catawba Island Club, and was a Charter member and past president of the Business and Professional Women’s Club in Port Clinton. Surviving are her son: Eugene (Peg) Bolte of Catawba Island; grandchildren: John Henry (Gerri) Bolte III of Tiffin, OH, Cindy Bolte of Port Clinton; great-grandchildren: Renee (Cory) Stine of Port Clinton, Phillip (Leslie) Bolte of Port Clinton, John Henry (Janell) Bolte of Dublin; great-great-grandchildren: John Henry V, Luke and Ty Bolte, McKenzie and Cooper Stine; brother: Michael P. Drusbacky of Port Clinton, sister: Margaret “Maggie” Oravec of Dallas, TX and sister-in-law and long time friend Norma Drusbacky. She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers: Joseph Drusbacky, John Drusbacky; sisters: Agnes Scheiwe and Mary Rounds. The family will receive friends from 5-9 P.M. Tuesday at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton, OH. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Port Clinton. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Thomas Episcopal Church or the Ann E. Bolte Scholarship Fund.
