April 22, 1911 — September 29, 2006

Andrew N. Dorko, 95, of Catawba Island, died Friday September 29, 2006 at H.B. Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton. He was born April 22, 1911 in Marblehead, the son of Andrew and Mary (Adams) Dorko. Mr. Dorko was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army-Air Force and he retired from the Standard Products Company. He was a member of the American Legion Post 113 of Port Clinton and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. Surviving are his sister, Elaine A. Monak and his brother, Raymond (Elaine) Dorko, both of Marblehead and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Vernita A. Dorko on January 9, 2000; his parents; sisters Veronica Dorko, Gladys Dorko and Mary Sherer and brothers Daniel, Francis, Lawrence, Clarence and Cyril. The family will receive friends from 2-8 pm Sunday at the Neidecker, LeVeck and Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton. Prayers services will begin at 9:40 am Monday at the Funeral Home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Immaculate Conception Church, Port Clinton. Fr. John C. Missler will officiate. Burial will follow in Catawba Island Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Catawba Island EMS, Magruder Hospital or Edgewood Manor Nursing Center.
