Amie R. Hyde

Amie R. Hyde, 98, of Port Clinton, Ohio died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Riverview Healthcare Campus in Oak Harbor, Ohio. She was born on June 10, 1914 in Port Clinton, the daughter of the late John M. and Jennie (Conley) Hopfinger. On May 8, 1965 she married Emmitt "Sandy" Hyde and he preceded her in death. During her working career, Amie worked for 45 years at the former Standard Products in Port Clinton until her retirement. She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton where she was also a member of the Rosary Altar Society. Her other memberships included the Ladies Auxiliary of the Port Clinton American Legion, Post 113; Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Athens VFW Post 3477; Ladies Auxiliary of the Port Clinton Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1610. She was also a member and past president of the Sunrise Garden Club from 1952-1996. Her hobbies included playing cards, traveling, crocheting, and gardening. Survivors include her brother: Jack (Jackie) Hopfinger, Port Clinton; sister: Lois Diedrich, Alpena, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant sister: Alice Hopfinger; sisters: Margaret Mulligan, Agnes M. Brindley; and brother: Charles Hopfinger . Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 3-8pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton. Prayers will begin at the funeral home at 9:30am on Friday, July 20, 2012 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton, with Father John C. Missler officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic School or to the Donor's choice.
