Allan A. Payer

Allan A. Payer, 77, of Port Clinton, Ohio died Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on October 10, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Alexander and Goldie Payer. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He married Carol Kuliga and she preceded him in death in June 1996. Alan was employed as a supervisor for the Plain Dealer serving Northwest Ohio, retiring in 2002. He was a former member of the Port Clinton Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1610; Port Clinton VFW Post #2480; Port Clinton American Legion Post #113 and the Port Clinton Billiards League. He loved birdwatching, classic cars, and travel, especially taking family road trips throughout the United States. Survivors include his sons: Mark and Shawn Payer, both of Port Clinton, OH; grandchildren: Holly and William Hood; great grandchildren: Haley Marquez and William Hood; brothers: Bob (Sandy) Payer, Cleveland, OH; Mike (Lorraine) Payer, Parma, OH; Errol (Irene) Payer, Parma, OH; and sister: Nancy Collins, in Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and daughter: Cynthia Hood. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 7, 2010 from 2-6 pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, OH.
