Aline M. Alge

Aline M. Alge, 90, of Catawba Island, Ohio died Monday, May 19, 2014 at Providence Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. She was born on April 6, 1924 in Robinson, Illinois, the daughter of the late Ashbul and Helen (Hurd) York. On February 13, 1943 she married Daniel "Jack" Alge and he preceded her in death on January 20, 2002. She worked nights for Eastman Kodak for 30 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton. "Cork ," as she was known by most who knew her, and her late husband Jack, had a place on Lake Erie where they would go on weekends eventually retiring there. She loved to fish, was an amazing cook, and loved playing card games with her grandchildren. She will be missed by all. Survivors include her daughter, Jacqueline (William) Dupps, Catawba Island; son John (Becky) Alge, Springboro, Ohio; five grandchildren : William, Jr. (Gretchen) Bay Village, Ohio; Heidi (Gary) Steyer, Port Clinton, Ohio; Chris (Jen) Alge, Maineville, OH; Stephanie (Jon) Franks, Springboro, OH ; and Brian Alge, Cleveland, OH; and ten great-grandchildren: Christian, Alexandra, Adrianne, Taylor, Lauren, Paige, Harper, Hadley, Jack and Evangeline,. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and sisters: Marge (Cy)Rusher, Crystal (Wayne) Miller and Patricia (Nick) Nicholas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Monday, June 2, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton, with Father John C. Missler officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Island Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be sent to Providence Care Center, Sandusky; Stein Hospice, Sandusky; or to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton.
