Alice M. Mahan

Alice M. Mahan, 91 of Oak Harbor died Sunday, February 03, 2008 at Cottage Cove Hospice Center, Oak Harbor under the care of Heartland Hospice. She was born June 12, 1916 in Orange County, Indiana to the late Isiah and Catherine (Dickens) Brothers. She was a graduate of Brandywine High School in Niles, MI. In April of 1933 she married Clarence Boyd Mahan who preceded her in death February 23, 1972. Alice was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, and fishing. Survivors include: sons Roger (Sharon) Mahan of Bloomfield, IN and Michael (Deborah) Mahan of Corunna, MI; daughter Janice (Martin) Kruse of Oak Harbor; sister Edith Riss of Elroy, WI; grandchildren: Robert Mahan, Lisa Hoshauer, Debra Morrison, Kim Farris, Geoffrey Kruse, Brian Kruse, Jennifer Peelor, Pat Mahan, and Scott Mahan; 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Boyd, son Robert Mahan, brothers: Cecil, Paul, and Glenn Brothers; and sisters; Agnes Keys and Ethel Powell. Funeral Services will begin at 4:30 pm Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore with the family receiving friends from 2-4:30 pm. Burial will be in Truitt's Chapel Cemetery, Niles MI; at 1pm Thursday. Memorial Contributions may be made to either the American Cancer Society or the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
