Alice M. Gnepper

Alice M. Gnepper, 89, of Oak Harbor, died Friday, September 7, 2007 at Genoa Care Center. She was born April 26, 1918 in Elliston, OH to the late George and Freida (Horner) Kuhlman. She was a graduate of Harris-Elmore High School. She obtained her Associate and Bachelor Degrees in Education from Bowling Green State University and her Masters Degree in 1972 at Shippensburg University, Shippensburg, PA. On June 6, 1941 she married Dale K. Gnepper in Elliston, OH and he preceded her in death on February 8, 2000. Alice retired from teaching in 1977 after more than 37 years. She taught Elementary students in the Oak Harbor area from 1937 to 1967, except during WWII she taught in Taylor, MI, and in Chambersburg, PA. from 1967 until 1977. Teaching was her passion, and continued to assist and volunteer her time after her retirement. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor. Survivors include her sons: Larry (Paulanne) Gnepper of Graytown, and Richard (Theresa) Gnepper of Franklin, OH; brother Kenneth Kuhlman; grandchildren: Steve, Michelle, Matthew, Kyle, and Amanda. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8pm with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Funeral Services will begin at 11am Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Harris- Elmore Union Cemetery.
