Alice M. Almendinger

Alice M. Almendinger, 67 of Oak Harbor, died Friday, September 16, 2011 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo. She was born June 9, 1944 in Port Clinton, OH to the late Allen L. and Kathryn (Jeremy) Goodman. On January 19, 1962 she married Tommy Almendinger. Alice retired from the Benton- Carroll- Salem Schools as the Head Cook at R.C. Waters Elementary School. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor. She was also a founding member of the Oak Harbor Harboretts which is now the Portage Fire District Harboretts. She enjoyed crafts shows, playing bingo, various card clubs, and traveling. Survivors include her husband Tommy of Oak Harbor, sons: Timothy W. of Lakeside- Marblehead, OH and Michael W. of Oak Harbor; brothers: Allen Goodman Jr. and Richard Goodman both of Port Clinton; sisters: Beverly Dowling of Palm Bay, FL., Doris Baker of Port Clinton, and Bess Eichler of Rockford, MI; grandchildren: Heather A., Tiffany L., T.J., and Alexis. She was preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer Lynn. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-9pm at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor with the family present from 2-5 & 6-9pm. Funeral Services will begin at 11am Thursday, September 22, 2011 at the Funeral Home with the Rev. David J. Tinker officiating. Burial will be in Sackett Cemetery, Danbury Township.
