Alan R. Suter, 68, of Ft. Myers, Port Clinton and Clyde passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, April 10, 2016. Alan was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on December 31, 1947 to Francis and Ann (Chagnon) Suter. On August 15, 1970 he married Rena Dills in Clyde, Ohio and she survives. Alan graduated from Clyde High School and was an Ohio State University Alumnus. He served in the SAC Unit of the United States Air Force. He loved all sports, whether watching or participating, and was an avid reader. He was also a member of the 3 gallon club of the American Red Cross. He and Rena traveled extensively to all 50 states of the US and beyond, collecting life-long friends along the way. In addition to his wife Rena, he is survived by his cherished daughter, Stephanie Suter and son-in-law, Joe Potestivo, of Seattle, Washington, as well as his first grandson to be, Michael Alan. Alan is also survived by his mother, Ann, of Clyde; brother, Wayne (Joan) Suter, of Fremont, Ohio; sisters, Linda (Jim) Dick, of Clyde and Jean (Jessie) Rodriquez, of Fremont, as well as many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Francis Suter. A private family memorial will be held at a later date to honor Alan's life.
