Maxine Carnicom, 80, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center in Port Clinton, Ohio. She was born on March 29, 1936 in Portsmouth, Ohio, the daughter of the late Willard and Edith (Bloomfield) Allen. She married Raymond Pugh and he preceded her in death on December 12, 1982. On November 18, 1986 she married Gilbert Carnicom and he survives. Maxine worked as a Telephone Operator for the former GTE Phone Company in Port Clinton and she also worked at Aim Packaging for several years. She then went to work at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center doing laundry in the housekeeping department until she retired in 1998. She was a member of the Port Clinton Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 2480; member of the Port Clinton Eagles Lodge Aerie 2295; and a former member of the Port Clinton Moose Lodge 1610. Maxine enjoyed the outdoors and could often be seen tending to her garden at home or to the flowers at Lakeview Park in Port Clinton. She also enjoyed going to the Casinos with her husband, but most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Gilbert; daughters, Dawn (Andy) Cantu, Port Clinton and Donna (William) Cooley, Galion, Ohio; step-son, Steven (Christine) Carnicom, Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandchildren, Michael (Keri) Pugh, Dawn Lohr, Rachel Cooley; step-grandson, Austin Carnicom; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, son, Raymond Dow Pugh, Jr., step-daughter, Vicki Carnicom; grandson-in-law, Jeremy Lohr, two brothers and one sister. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton from 10:30 am until Funeral Services at 11:30 am with Pastor Ryan Morter officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Port Clinton. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
