Lois M. Shiets

Lois Marie Shiets, 87 of Oak Harbor, OH died Monday, July 8, 2024, at Genoa Care Center. She was born in Fremont, OH on March 11, 1937, a daughter of the late Henry & Lena (Trapp) Lenz. She was a 1955 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. On February 1, 1958 she married Donald J. Shiets who preceded her in death August 14, 2017.

Lois worked for Joseph’s Department Store for many years as the office/accounting administrator. She was a long time Girl Scout Leader for many children. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor along with being a choir member and pianist for the church.

Survivors include her children: Tim (Jackie) Shiets, Tammy (John) Weaver, and Tom (Kerrie) Shiets; grandchildren: Jami (Jody) Overmier, Jonathan Shiets, Tyler (Allie) Weaver, Jordan (Emily) Weaver, Tabatha (Michael) Leidy, and Jason Shiets; along with 6 great- grandchildren with another great granddaughter on the way. Lois is also survived by brother Gary Lenz. She was preceded in death by brothers and sister, Delbert, Betty and Richard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30am on Monday, July 15, 2024 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Oak Harbor, with the family to receive friends beginning at 9:30am at the Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Fremont, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church or St. Boniface Catholic School.
