John W. Flood

John W. Flood, 73, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on May 13, 1942 in Port Clinton, Ohio, the son of the late Paul M. and Mary L. (Carlson) Flood. He married Nora Howard on April 20, 1974 and she survives. John was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He worked as an Assembler/Floor Inspector in Quality Control at Ford Motor Company in Sandusky until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Port Clinton, as well as the Oliver H. Perry Masonic Lodge #341, Port Clinton. John enjoyed Mustangs, Motorcycles, and Marksmanship. He and Nora had many motorcycle adventures with their good friends, Doug and Marian Blevins. Survivors include his wife, Nora; son, Terry (Gwen) Flood, Walbridge, Ohio; daughter, Kelly (Steve) Purvis, Ashland, Ohio; grandchildren, Alyssa Purvis (fiance', Joe Santoli), Brette Purvis, Jenna Purvis, Elizabeth Flood, John Flood, Susan Flood, and Michael Flood; brother, Michael Flood (friend, Nancy King), Sandusky, Ohio; as well as nieces, nephews and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary; son, Richard Flood; daughters, Cheryl Ann Flood and Carol Ann Flood. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, Ohio, from 1pm until a Memorial Service at 3pm with Pastor Doug Winner officiating.
