James A. Ashton, 80, of Port Clinton, died Sunday October 28, 2007 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky. He was born June 10, 1927 in Toledo, the son of the late Edwin E. and Martha A. (Bigelow) Ashton, Sr. Jim was an electrician with the IBEW 245 and a truck driver for the Teamsters Local 20. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy and was a comunicant of Immaculate Conception Church. He is survived by his companion, Pat Croxton, Port Clinton, his children, Thomas (Denise) Ashton, Rebecca (Eddie) Rodriguez, Michael (Vickie) Ashton, and David (Teresa) Ashton, all of Port Clinton, Patrick (Debbie) Ashton, of Avon Park, FL, Tamara (Don) Henry of Sandusky, John (Sherry) Ashton, Steven (Sue) Ashton, and Jamie (Anne) Ashton all of Port Clinton; eighteen grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife Madonna (Winke) Ashton in 1986, his parents and a brother Edwin E. Ashton, Jr. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6–8:30 P.M. Wednesday at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton where funeral services will be at 8:30 P.M. Wednesday. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday at Riverview Cemetery.
