Jacqueline "Jacque" L. Chapman, 79, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Heartland Hospice Nursing Center in Waterville, Ohio. She was born on July 17, 1935 in Fremont, Ohio, the daughter of the late Herman and Gladys (Beeler) Schneider. Growing up in Fremont, she was a 1953 graduate of Fremont Ross High School, and then attended Bowling Green State University. On February 19, 1955 she married Roland Chapman and he survives. Jacque worked in the Ottawa County Treasurer's Office until she became Treasurer, where she continued to work until her retirement. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Port Clinton; member of the Ottawa County Historical Society; and her family said she was a great actress, therefore she was very active in Playmakers Civic Theatre. She was very meticulous about her home and the yard, where she spent countless hours mowing, flower gardening, and interior decorating. She enjoyed traveling with Ro and her family. She was an avid sports fan, as she was often seen at her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, and also cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Cleveland Browns, and Cavaliers. Most importantly, she always put her family first, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Survivors include her husband of 59 years: Ro; daughters: Leslie (Mark) Soderberg, Cranberry Twp, Pennsylvania and Julie (fianc, Mark Underwood) Riedmaier, Port Clinton; son: Thomas (Dawn) Chapman, Catawba Island; grandchildren: Daniel (Jenni) Soderberg, Patrick (Stephanie Prater) Soderberg, Allison Soderberg, Zach (Liz Matijasic) Riedmaier, Eric (fianc, Jessica Pampush) Riedmaier, Kaitlin (Thomas) Griffing, Keegan Chapman, Caden Chapman; great-granddaughters: Olivia and Annabelle Soderberg; and her canine companions; Annie, Tess and Darby. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Marilyn Farver. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1124 Fulton Street, Port Clinton, Ohio. On Saturday, January 31, 2015 additional visitation will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 135 Adams Street, Port Clinton from 10am until Funeral Services at 11am with Pastor Bruce Batchelor-Glader officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church or to the Humane Society of Ottawa County.
